Where Eagles Dare

This is definitely one of my all time favorite war flicks. I remember seeing this way back on one of the UHF stations growing up. My uncle was a big influence on me when it came to putting me up on the war genre, I could actually have a weekend marathon of my favorite flicks, but I'll save it for a cold winter day.

Capricorn One

I havent watched this flick in quite some time but I think that I'll throw it in tonight before I crash. What sparked me wanting to revisit this flick you ask? Well I was watching something today about NASA sending up another rocket to the moon to do tests on the percentage of water etc.etc...blah blah. And I said to myself "are we still trying to reach the moon after all these years"? Didnt we land there already, shouldn't we have done test years ago? Hmmm...Did we even really land there??? All jokes aside I just feel like watching the flick but image if the whole moon landing was a lie after all these years?

Gotta love a 70's flick with James Brolin and OJ Simpson in it!

Dark Shadows

This is a show that I really loved growing up. I never caught it during its initial (1967-1971) run but always caught the reruns on NBC or whatever. Dark Shadows episodes were continuous which basically means if you miss an ep or 2 you've got 1243 episodes to go thru before you see it again. Yes, this show lasted 1245 episodes...Amazing. There are DVD's out with the episodes (not sure if its the complete run) but thats alot of discs. So in the mean time I'll just keep watching the 100 or so that I have on VHS until I invest in purchasing them before they become out of print.

The Godfathers of Hong Kong

Been looking for a clean copy with english dub for a while now. I have a decent copy but its in German, if you've got a copy that you want to part with let me know!!

The end of late night as I knew it.

So I just got back in from my trip to Seattle and turned on the only TV left in my house that doesn't have Sattelite or Cable hooked into it just to watch the snow that has taken over the picture. Its not often that I turn that TV on but its weird to do so and not have a signal coming thru. So analog is dead and digitial will be here for years to come, no more rabbit ears and no more unclear picture coming thru.

R.I.P my Analog friend!

Mr. Han.....

The man known as Mr. Han in Enter The Dragon dies at 96. This guy was ruthless and will stop at nothing to get what he wants!

Saturday Night Dead

Here's another one of those local shows that only aired in the Tristate area (Philly, NJ, DE)from 1984-1990 and aired after Saturday Night Live. It was hosted by this chick Stella from Manayunk and she would basically do her skits and then show horror B Movies. I remember many of night watching, falling asleep and then waking back up to the test pattern of the station shutting down for the night.

Five Deadly Venoms

Ok, here's another flick that always brings back childhood memories but not just the fact that its a Venoms flick but because of the voice doing the commentary. His voice is so distinct and I remember it from many flicks during that time period. Just the sound of his voice made you want to see the flick, even if it was wack you just had to watch it! Kind of like the Howard Cosell of B movies.
